Alan and his workmates were lined up outside their work bus on a dark country road and shot in their backs by terrorists. As Alan lay wounded, having been shot 18 times, the terrorists took aim to shoot any remaining survivors dead. Miraculously, Alan survived to tell his story, which is known today as The Kingsmill Massacre.
